Ami's Dancing Bird
Story heroes: Ami, Mom, Dad

As the golden sun began to dip below the horizon, Ami and her family gathered in a wide open field. Each of them held a white paper bird attached to a stick, ready to dance in the gentle evening breeze.
Ami’s tiny hands held the stick tightly, watching as her bird quivered and drifted in the air. Her eyes sparkled, full of wonder and a hint of determination.

Ami spun in place, trying to make her bird flutter gracefully like her mom’s and dad’s. She watched their birds swoop and glide, almost as if they were real.
But no matter how she twirled, her bird seemed to dip unexpectedly, its wings trembling rather than soaring.
She paused for a moment, feeling a little unsure. The field was still, except for the soft rustle of grass and the quiet flap of paper.
Mom noticed her hesitation and kneeled down beside her, her eyes warm and kind.

“Try swaying like this, Ami,” Mom suggested, moving her arm in a gentle, waving motion. Ami watched as her mom’s bird danced smoothly, gliding with each sway.
Tentatively, Ami mimicked the motion, her little hand guiding the paper bird slowly back and forth.
To her delight, the bird began to dance, dipping and rising with a newfound grace. A soft giggle escaped her lips, and her cheeks warmed with a sense of achievement.
Ami’s bird now moved with the rhythm of a song only she could hear, fluttering happily beneath the sunset sky as her family watched with smiles.
The family continued to play together, their paper birds weaving gentle patterns against the softening sky.
And in that quiet, magical moment, Ami felt the joy of finding her own way to fly.
